Stephan Pretorius — programmer and web developer

Stephan Pretorius

I design and build websites and tools for practices, organisations, and local businesses that need to be found, trusted, and used.

Selected work

Live sites, built to work.

Debt counselling, a faith-based NPC, a Limpopo upholsterer, and a tool for debt counsellors — different worlds, same requirement: people have to find the next step without hunting.

01

Debt Solutions

Public site for an NCR-registered debt counselling practice

  • Hero, process, calculator, assessment, blog, and contact — structured so a worried visitor can act.
  • Positioned around one dedicated counsellor, not a call centre.
  • Built for nationwide use in English and Afrikaans, on ordinary PHP hosting.

02

Prison to Praise

Site for a faith-based NPC funding legal defence

  • Home, donate, and current cases — mission, vision, and a clear path to give.
  • EFT details and Payfast, with the public accountability the NPC needs: NPC account, director sign-off, annual audit.
  • A quieter, more formal register than a commercial practice site, without losing the next step.

Rudi's Stoffering

Afrikaans site for a tradesman upholsterer in Tolwe

  • Hero, about, six services, project gallery, contact page, and WhatsApp — so a local client can ask for a quote.
  • Furniture, vehicle interiors, canvas tents, commercial work, and restoration, in the language the workshop uses.
  • Hosted on GitHub Pages; same HTML/CSS/Bootstrap model as the other public sites.

04

NCT DC Help

Web application for debt counsellors — not a brochure site

  • Login, register, single and joint applications, so a counsellor can prepare NCT papers without rebuilding them by hand.
  • Signatures, credit-provider records, and generated Word/PDF packs ready to serve on providers.
  • Built in Python (Flask) for a working practice tool, not a static homepage.

How I work

Design it. Build it. Get it online.

01

Clear from the first screen

A visitor should know who you are and what to do next. I put the path on the page — not behind extra decoration.

02

Code your host can run

Public sites in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Python when a login or document flow is needed. Nothing your server cannot support.

03

Still there after launch

Forms, payments, search, and the small breaks that only appear live. I do not stop at a layout that looks right on one laptop.

About

A site that holds up.

Stephan Pretorius designs and builds websites for South African businesses and non-profits. The work has to hold up on real hosting, with real forms, for people who are not browsing for fun.

The work shown here is the public site for Debt Solutions, an NCR-registered debt counselling practice operating since 2007; Prison to Praise, an NPC that funds legal defence and supports families through the justice process; Rudi's Stoffering, an Afrikaans upholstery workshop in Tolwe, Limpopo; and NCT DC Help, a Python application that helps debt counsellors generate National Consumer Tribunal applications.

Stack in production: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, PHP, and Python. C# when a project needs it.

If you need a site that can be found, read, and used, get in touch.
